STUART MCLAUGHLIN

Life at the sharp end of government policy: Reflections on 17 years of headship

My session will focus on three main areas: academisation; high stakes accountability and league tables; and the impact of Ofsted and the constantly changing inspection framework. I will draw on my personal experiences of these policies and how they have affected school leaders and school communities. I will share my thoughts on alternative ways we could develop education policy for our children and young people.
