RAFAEL ALLEYNE

Equity, Diversity & Inclusion in schools: An authentic approach

The session will describe the phases that the London Screen Academy went through during an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) reboot. EDI is a part of the School Development Plan and it is entwined in the school’s ambitious mission and vision. The key for the group who lead this area, The Ethnicity Inclusion Committee (EIC), is to ensure that they don’t move too fast for purpose, or indulge in tokenistic activities for the wider school community. The EIC works with students, staff and industry to influence curriculum, policy and community life.
