Last month, Kate and I did a talk at the researchED conference entitled ‘Rethinking Learning to Learn as a Complex Intervention: Raising the Bar, Closing the Gap’. Pretty snappy huh? If you’re interested, you can see the talk below – the sound settles down after a minute or so. (The room was packed and so we thought we’d leave the door open to let a bit of air in – next time we should make people sweat in silence!)
At the talk, we collected people’s email addresses and received some really lovely feedback. We have also had quite a bit of interest in the idea of putting on a training day, so we can spend some time pulling apart the Learning Skills approach we’ve developed over the last 6 years, so people can consider whether any of it might be applicable in their schools.
So now the training day has arrived – woohoo! Here’s a link to the Eventbrite page. Early bird tickets are available until the end of November at £75, and it’s £95 thereafter. Lunch will be provided – we’ll email nearer the time to find out dietary requirements etc.
Have an amazing half-term, and we hope to see some of you in the new year.
why is this on the same day as the BETT show?
Oh no! Can’t change the date now unfortunately. OK, here’s a spoiler for BETT: there is lots of ed tech available, and it varies in quality from the sublime to the ridiculous. I hope you now feel able to come to our event =)
Unfortunately, I will be helping Intel on their stand with their Maker initiative. Will there be a repeat performance? i did watch the whole film from the last one you did with Kate but it is no the same as being there.
That’s a shame. Depending on how this one goes, if there’s an appetite for more we may do another day later in the year, possibly at the IoE. Or we can arrange a time to chat if you like?
